According to Native American tribes of the Great Lakes, the August moon is known as the Sturgeon Moon, “because they knew that the sturgeon of the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain were most readily caught during this full Moon.”

This title inspired the included image, which is one of many I’ve been creating for an oracle deck that features the movement of heavenly bodies.
